Eric Brooks
Eric is a former member of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange who co-founded Susquehanna International Group (SIG). A global quantitative trading firm, Susquehanna grew its market leadership in large part by infusing skilled decision-making in the company culture and in the training of its employees. Eric traded derivatives for five years before he co-founded SIG in 1987. Eric served as a Managing Director for SIG for 17 years, helping build the privately owned company into one of the most successful trading firms in the world.
Seeing how learned decision-making skills impacted SIG and its employees both professionally and personally, Eric took on the goal of bringing this scientific method of deciding to the K-12 classroom. Eric has worked with educational organizations, including serving as a member of the Board of Trustees at a Montessori School, the Mastery Charter Schools, the LEAD Foundation and the Decision Education Foundation. He co-founded the Alliance for Decision Education with Annie Duke in 2014 with the aim of ensuring every student in the United States has access to Decision Education, empowering them with essential judgment and decision-making skills.
Eric has passionately supported companies and efforts focused on the gamification of core curriculum and decision sciences since 2005. He has also applied his decision-making skills to playing various games, including poker. In 2008, Eric won the Seven Card Stud Tournament in the World Series of Poker.
